Since Skoda joine the VAG group they have put out some impressive cars, we really like the VRS. The new Yeti is also an impressive car and will be a good seller and Skoda broke into luxury car territory with the awesome Superb.

Even a humble Fabia or Octavia can, with some simple tuning mods be a real performance car. Choose the 1.8T or 2.0Tfsi engines as these are the most tunable and get them remapped. Larger intercoolers and a stronger diverter valve all help to raise the performance of the car to credible levels.

Suspension mods are quite important and you should get fully adjustable suspension if you want to set the car up to suit your driving style.

Tip Submitted by Richard Raynor Tip: ebay.co.uk is great place for bargain spares and even complete engines / gearboxes
Extreme auto acessories also have some great value performance & styling parts. Question: I've added a sports exhaust and Air filter what should I do next to boost the power without spending too much money?
Answer: Fit a fuel pressure boost valve - about £100 for more top end power and driveability with a faster throttle response or go for fast road profile cams £200 + Fitting .

Question:My name is Kostas, I was wondering whether you could give me some advice on tuning. I own a 4x4 1.8t Octavia and am looking to increase the power to around 200hp. I have been looking at the revotechnik website where they tune the car by altering the ecu settings. They claim an increase of up to 210hp. I would like to ask whether such a power hike would require an intercooler or any other sort of engine mods. What is your advice on a good tuning solution, taking into account money and engine longevity?
