engine conversion

Tbh dude if you're asking if it will be a lot of work, and everything you need you will struggle big time. Might be worth asking on Cliosport as that's a really random conversion so I don't think there will be many on here that can help you.

Hello and Welcome to Torquecars.
Hope you enjoy your time with us.

Yes is the answer it will be alot of work.
You'll need an engine, poss wiring loom, gearbox, plus with the extra power you'll need extra stopping power so brake upgrade and well as suspension upgrade.
Thats just off the top of my head. As MA says if you need someone to give you a list then you'll prob find it difficult to do mate.
Who will be doing the conversion?

i was going to give it ago myself i know about upgrading brakes and stuff like that i just didnt know if i would need to change the loom  dont do well with loads of wires :cheesy: did a engine conversion in a escort estate from a 1.8 d to a 2.0 turbo and stressed my head when doing the loom so trying not to go that far. Any suggestions on what engine you would go for if you was going to do the work?

What you want is a rear end accident damaged car with the engine you want in it. Then you'll have everything you need for the conversion and when you remove things you'll be able to take pictures and label everything so you know where it all goes when you put it all together.;)

I'd use Megane 225 engine if I were doing a conversion. A mate of a mate has been through numerous engines in his Mk1, the 225 being the latest incarnation. I've seen it go and it's mental.

Not that much with the combined knowledge of three or four people. I'll try and get some pics of it up with one of the old engines a bit later if I get time.
