hot starting problems

alright chaps.need help again.my starter motor has been playing up this week so i have fitted a reconditioned one today.since i have fitted it my car wont start when it is hot unless i pump the grenade.if i leave it till it is cold it will start.i disconected the battery when i fitted starter this would,nt have anything to do with it would it.any ideas chaps.:(:(:(:(
 
?? - When you turn the key to re-start a hot/warm engine does the starter motor engage and turn the engine (regardless of accelerator pedal position)?

If it does turn over but still fails to start then you have a fuel injection related problem.

If not then it's down to electrical connections.

Disconnecting the battery is routine in all mechanical work, especially so when dealing with electrical components such as the starter motor.

Your car is old enough that it won't be encumbered with the likes of full management ECUs which can play hell if disconnected. (although PSA cars are nowhere near as touchy about this as some VAG ones).
