Do you honk your horn when going over a very narrow hump back bridge or really tight narrow corner?

What is the protocol? If someone else honks do they have right of way or do you honk back to warn them you're going to try and come through?

What if you both honk at the same time, would you hear it?

Wouldn't it be safer to park up, get out, walk around the corner or over the bridge and check it's clear and then drive on? ;)

By the time you have checked its clear and got back in your car it probably won,t be clear.

So amazingly my afterthought seems to be a daft idea, well I never saw that coming! ;)

What about honking - is this something you bother with under these conditions?

I would edge over ever so slightly, but on that assumption I am hoping the other person will be driving as slow.

I just tend to drive very slowly and keep my eyes peeled. I only honk my horn if a driver is coming the other way over a hump back bridge when the signs clearly show I have right of way.
