406 diesel problems

I guess that the car does stop on its own within minute. I have heard of this with Diesels - the glow plugs are staying hot and this is enough to keep the engine turning over. (In a petrol no power - no spark so there is no run on.)
 
I had this on my previous 406, ran on for a few seconds before cutting off, what i was told is it was most likely the stop solenoid, on a 406 the are horizontal and stick when a bit worn, should only be a couple of quid for a new one, screws off, then screw new one on afaik
