Hi all, just a quick update. Finally go my car repaired (highland audi damaged the side skirt while'st doing the MOT). Was a bit worried but they did a nice job. Also had another problem just a few weeks ago, heard a strange noise coming from the engine one morning and on inspection discovered the auxillery drive belt was shredding itself. Problem turned out to be the alternator pulley was failing. This is a clutched pully which allows the alternator to keep turning as the engine speed decreases. Give me the old days when thing were simple. Anyway got the job done under warranty. So hears to a summer of happy trouble free motoring. All the best to all. Spanners.
