pullies not lining up

My generator pulley stickes out further than my crank shaft pulley. stock cranck shaft pulley and generator in as far as it will go against fan housing . What do i do

Is the generator non-standard? Sounds like you either need to find another one that fits or modify the mounts to get it to align properly.

Without seeing a photo of the installation...... has the generator been mounted on the wrong side of the bracket, thereby pushing it forward?
