Ok I have to start with saying that any sort of help or suggestion will be highly appreciated as I'm very open minded and listen to others' thoughts. I started this thread because in summer this year I am planning to drive from London to Nurburgring with 2 of my friends in our cars. I heard that after racing on such a difficult track you come back as a completely different driver and gain tonnes of experience. At the moment my civic 1.8 VTI is completely standard performance wise and I need to prepare for it since it is no ordinary circuit. Next month I am planning to achieve the following upgrades:

- Exedy Clutch <ebay link removed>
- New brakes
- New driveshafts
( I have a big issue with them, the noise that they make is very worrying Id be hugely greatful for any source of information about where I could get a pair from excluding ebay breakers, tried that ).
- Lighter flywheel
( I do not know much about which is best, my engine code is b18c4 and Ive been wondering if parts straight from Integra Type R would fit but I dont know if my gearbox is compatible ).
- Platinum spark plugs
- Twin core ingnition leads
- Oil change plus filters for petrol too
- Short shifter
- 300mm steering wheel
( Hopefully quick release:D ).
- New set of tires
- Weight loss
( Back seats, whole boot, rear door window motors, all door cards and air conditioning system goes too ).
- Silicone hose kit
- CDA induction
- Full exhaust system, decat
( Here i am in a hole, i want the sound of buddy club spec II but they dont make systems for my car :amazed::(, also Ive decided on a 4-1 header but make still considering ).
- 2 pairs of 3000k HID Xenons
( Yellow japanese look for both main beam and fogs :cool: ).

That's all I can think of right now, any help or suggestion, what I should bring with me, how much money will I need or what kind of mods I've forgotten about, should not go for or anything like that will be replied to.
Many thanks for your help guys

I'm going to Le Mans then stopping of at the Nurburgring in June. I'm taking about £800 cash plus my cards but that's just to be on the safe side. If you're just going to the ring and then back up again, you could probably do it with £500 tbh.

Plans for mods sounds good but I'd prioritise good tyres and a damn good service over everything else. You're lucky in the sense that you're doing it in a bullet-proof car whereas I'll be taking spare Coil-packs, AFM's and all sorts :D

hi again,

thats a fair few quid you'll be spending then ? on the drive shaft issue theres a place i found today in balham, (not sure if im allowed to post this ? if not sorry in advance) its called 5 star japanese autos, balham high road. tel. 020 8673 3739 give them a try. im going to call in tomorrow, maybe, on the hunt for some used spots for my civic.

yeah service and spare tires and brakes, for back up. i still havent planned when exactly we are going do you have some sort of calendar of open track days for nurburgring? its about 15euros a lap right?

Koichow69 im definetaly going to look up this place its my priority at the moment dont want my wheels to roll off do i?

iir the ring is open just about all year round somebody will be able to confirm or reject this hopefully
stupid question but have you checke the wheel bearings ?

no question is stupid my friend, i havent actually no. could it be it?
let me explain what the problem sounds like, i drive straight its all good but when i turn its fine as long as i dont accelarate, when press gas at least a tad it makes this noise of old wooden door:(

You've missed off suspension! That should come above any kind of power upgrade in your proirities. If you need a place to do the work, pm me as I know of a very good place in Oxford.

Ahhh my bad I forgot to say, ive got a set of Koni's on already, if that counts as "performance wise" then its not exactly standard :)
All I can say is that id be greatful for any info on some honda specialists, i like to know that someone knows what they're talking about and the job is done properly, anything around London?

i been reading banzai magazine recently, has anyone seen the red civic type-r in this months edition, the owner talks a lot of positive stuff about a place called TDI, which im sure has been mentioned by Prince before. the hondata s300 is the ecu im chasing and apparently they could supply and remap that :D, does anyone know if TDI has got some skilled fellas that specialize in exhausts or custom roll cages?

Not me mate... I would personally recommend Hond-R in Oxford.

oh, sorry. for some reason its stuck in my head that TDI has been mentioned to me by someone recently. Im actually looking to travel for modifications do Hond-R supply ECUs and remap mate?

the best start of mod for the mb6 is the s80 gearbox from the integra£500-£600.Transforms the whole car to what it should have been and gets rid of that rediculous 2nd gear. Then to make the handling better after dropping it,is to get the mgzs180 anti roll bar.£40-£50.E bay.2mm thicker and makes a whole lot a difference.Plenty bits you can take of the integra.cams etc.I have heard that if you chop the resonater box off the mb6 it gives you more top end.

LOL chop it :blink1:.
mhmm i got happy after reading this post:p the gearbox sounds like a great idea! have u done that on yours mate? i heard about the mg zs anit roll bar before but was it the front one or the rear one? btw the car is stripped so im uploading a few pics. There was 3 of us and we started 8 in the morning, finished by 4 afternoon, our backs were hurting like a b***h at the end but results paid off guys im telling you! my engine is all standard,

Thats the prob with mb6,weight and gear box.The arb is the back 1 mate.Ours is 18mm and the zs is 20mm.sures the back end up.If you gunna make a track car, ever thought of taking the sunroof out. That thing weights a packet with the motor etc.cut some of the body roll out.

i see, found 2 on ebay for about £60 but i think their front, ill just buy one new from my mechanic. how can i take out the sunroof and what do u mean by cutting the body roll out? i also have a problem i wanted to get rid of back window motors and i cant because its actually holding the windows up without them back window slides down inside the door what can i do in this case, ive already played around with the switches ive only got front passenger switch and drivers is on the drivers door.

Not literally cutting your body roll out but the sunroof is a fair bit of weight (10-15kgs at a guess) right at the highest point of the car, thus heightening the centre of gravity slightly.

You could remove it and weld it up properly or just rivet some aluminium to the top with sealer to stop water if you were a pikey. You could also make a carbon fibre panel to replace it and bond it in.
