Another question though, can I mix different brands that are the same weights/grade?

Yes should be fine as long as grades and such are the same.

It's not just grades. As far as I remember full ester synthetics shouldn't be mixed with the polyaphaolefin types.
Guy from Opie will give us the full answer but I think it's best to stick with one oil for fill and topping off.

That's fair enough, I'm thinking of switching oils in my next service,
Guy just told me as well that AMSOIL isn't ester based I wasquite shocked really, lol
