Mazda 323 f . Looking for tuning tips

Hi
I've got a 1991 Mazda 323f 16v 1600cc that I use for auto test.The car has been stripped out to make it as light as possible and currently I'm doing quite well. The engine is totally standard and I'm getting to the point where I now need more power.
Has anybody got any suggestions of reliable modifications I could make or bolt on goodies I could get to give me more torque specific to this engine?
