ohhhh, i like limos, especially ones with flatscreens !

Car sterio systems use a 4 ohm independance system (I think this is the resistance caused by the voice coil in the speaker, could be wrong though) and house speakers run an 8 ohm independance.
In short, this ICE system wouldn't really be that lazy but is certainly do'able. I used to run a 240 volt 17" widescreen LCD TV with a 2 amp surround sound system in my limo, and with a decent charging system to keep up with the power drain it worked with no problems at all. It was very cool and very, very loud.
Hey Fingers, you're not wrong about the Ohms.
Anwearing; you could theoretically run 2 house speakers Bridged, (to drop the ohms to HALF)
[Bridged = both positives are joined + Both negative connectionsare joined = So the amp thinks its running one speaker], but i would reccomend a seperate Full Range amp (not bass amp) to power these. however it wont be stereo anymore.
What Car were you considering doing that setup in, Because the speakers should have open acess to the passenger compartent, otherwise it will just sound Boomy. Which will only clear up when yo open the boot. (and it will then sound better outside then inside), but then that might be nice if you can park next to a BBQ.
Kemo; i've seen those PC systems on th Net,
and they're not that expensive when you start to evaluate the price of DVD, Mp3, Navigation headunits. but then you need a nice place to hide the Box. (they're not that big anymore). And you can get the BEST Navigation, Best Media player, because of the more powerful processor.
i would have done it in my car, but i didnt want to fabricate my Dash,
i Saw one fitted to an Red Escort at Max Power Live, with the Fishtank screensaver, it had jaws dropping.
Cos it looked like the owner molded a 15" fishy tank into the Dash. !
But, i like my system to be able to be discreet, when the touch screen retracts, it looks like a normal stereo. So i can park anywhere and just take the face off like normal people., :?
Am gonna connect an ipod video to it so i can control everyting from my stereo.
Answearing, if the interior of your car is open, with no parcelshelf, you could jus buy some nice 6x9" and buy boxes for them (i seen the pair of boxes for about £30 inc delivery)
i reccomended that to my friend with a classic 1973 MG BGT. 8) And it sounded great. offering full range + more sharper bass then when the speakers were fitted to a parcel shelf in my car at the time.
