Hello all,
Just joined up as a GTO buyer and newby to this model.
Have a silver 1998 Mitsubishi GTO 3000 GT fresh import
from Japan arriving in a few days-can't wait.I drive a
2002 Toyota Caldina ST246 which is outstanding but
was drawn to the GTO while looking for a Supra last week.

Awd in the GTO is a safety backup just like in the Caldina
and the outputs are the same for both cars(206kw afw).

Should be fun as always,
K.P.

Thanks for the welcome guys,
Have you any suggestions as to where to start with modifications on the GTO? Mine is the Jap spec GTO not the VR4(206kw) but appears to be stock, even down to the 4 pipe exhaust.Any help will be appreciated.

Most people say that before you add power...upgrade the brakes, especially with the GTO as they are so big and heavy :p
I keep hearing that the best things to do to get you started are induction kits, Downpipe and Cat back exhausts. Apparently the original ECU's in GTO's are not Re-mappable which means that part of modding will be quite expensive as I've looked into it and a good aftermarket ECU can cost £1700 just for the ECU itself.

I haven't managed to upgrade anything yet...as I'm making sure mine is up to scratch and running well before I spend money upgrading
