Hows everybody

I'm driving a 2001 Skoda Fabia 1.4L MPI

I was hoping that once I got a new car I would strip and turn my fabia into some form of rally or rallycross car.
I'm a novice when it comes to mechanics and from what I've learned so far...I need to change the engine.

Any other tips and advice are much appreciated.

Greetings and Welcome to our TorqueCars Forum my Friend :)

Please feel free to have a look around the website, there are many varied and interesting articles to read on all manner of car modifying subjects.
Also, you may find our members project threads and photo gallery very useful as a source of inspiration towards your own very special project!

Good luck to you & I hope you enjoy the forum! :)

If you are considering Rally, then I would suggest not to change the engine yet. You might want more power, but if you are new to it then you might end up with more than expected and inadvertantly create a car shaped hole in a hedge. I would focus more on the handling aspect and get the suspension set up right first. And make sure you do your research, as many places will require you do have certain things on your car before you are allowed to race it, such as an FIA approved rollcage (not a cheap show cage), Fuel cut off switch, an approved helmet, etc.. And dont forget to buy a Rally computer and get a good co-driver. Oh, one more thing... Welcome to torquecars! :D

Thanks for the welcome!

Of all the suggestions I think a good co-driver may be the hardest to find, but the rest take money.
But a guy can dream.
