i have a rover 200 hatch which iam modding its a 1.4 8 valve what mods can i do to this engine or would it be better putting a 16 valve in if so is it a straight forward conversiion thanks billabong

hey and welcome to the site mate.
to be honest you wont gain that much from going 8v to 16v. if your lookijng at swaping the engine then you should at least go for something thats going to give you a gain worthy of the time involved

Sorry I've been so slow in welcoming you, I've been updating the main site www.torquecars.com and I've just relaunched it!
The 16v head is better, or drop in the 1.8VVC engine as the block is pretty much the same size and shape.
You'll find us a pretty friendly bunch and I'm sure you'll start to love and enjoy the forums as much as we all do. (It gets quite addictive at times.)
Feel free to get involved in our other threads, all opinions are welcome and as they say "the more the merrier"! (It's also great when people start new threads and discussions and all adds to the great debate.)
Keep us up to date with your project as well, we like to see what people are getting up to with their cars.
