Escort/cosworth swap?

I got a 98 tracer that is a little project car. Does anyone know what the best motor I could swap my current 2.0 sohc with. I was thinking the zx2 motor, hopeful a cosworth , but sure how difficult it would be to convert t to rear w

welcome mate. the car is basically a ford. it is something between escort (american) and kia avella.
it'll need chasis mods a lot for a powerful engine. is it a fwd?
why don't you try tuning it's own engine, what engine does it have and what's the weight?
your joker card might be the weight.
