As most would agree the sound of the enging would be missed most
as an electric one is quite but looking into some of these motors im going to put one in mine at the front ther is some great weight savings to be had but the power is awrsome. my engine without alt, startermotor no frywheel comes in at 100kg and the box 65kg this ac motor im looking into

• Type: Siemens 1PV5135WS28 3 Phase Induction Motor
• Number of Poles: 4
• Continuous Power: 67 kW – 91 hp
• Maximum Power (@ 850V): 200 kW – 272 hp <15 seconds

• Maximum Power (@ 650V): 160 kW – 214 hp <30 seconds
• Maximum Torque: 317 ft-lbs (430 Nm)
• RPM Range: 0 – 10.000 RPM
• Cooling: Water/Glycol
• Weight: 200lbs (90 kg)

makes you think would you go over and try it or stay with petrol
me i want both the ice for bhp and the Ac motor for all that torque..

DC motors have the ultimate low end torque. Sepex AC ones are a compromise

Don't forget the weight of the batteries, either.

How about diesel as a less outlandish proposition?

Batteries reduce the weight advantage though. I quite like the idea of electric cars but we need to store the power efficiently and recharge them quickly.

Im only having two battries at most i will plum in a 100+amp generater running off the crank. 100amps would run about 30kw motor witch would probley need about 40 battries @ 2.5 amps continus.
Ac is easer for me, looked at Dc and is not for me.
need around 240v -416v at least.

Ac recharges when not being used so are perfect for me ( reganarative braking) that sort of thing.

What do you do about DC/AC inversion? Single or 3 phase?

3 Phase 4 pole 415v of now, im only just learning but getting an ider where im going i will have two paddles on the stering wheel one for ice other for Ac motor. well thats the plan for now.
