Hey, I'm a new poster to this site, I'm having issues with my 2003 Clio Expression, its having intermitent problems starting. Nothing to do with battery and starter motor doesn't even turn over, but after a few days it will start as normal. Recovery guy said it was the immobiliser but I'm not sure what could be setting it off...

Do you have any advice / Heard of any design faults I should be aware of???

Re: Clio Owners introduce yourselves here.

hey and welcome to the site

are the batterys in the remote been changed lately. if not try changing them

the immobiliser is linked into most central locking system

only other thing i can think of is the key may need reprogrammed, do you have the same problem with the spare set?

Some cars rely on a signal from the remote so if the remote battery is low this can cause the immobiliser to cut in. I think PGs theory about the battery is probably the issue, although the immobiliser could be playing up. I've not heard of this fault before on a clio.
