Cheaper to park illegally

£25 to park v £42 to park? No contest really. Seems to be a very flawed system which actually does nothing to address the problem it's supposed to be fixing.

It might work in Cambridge but no so good in places where you will be clamped or towed away:(

If you read the story properly, it paints a biased picture.

Headline says fine is £25 but article states £35. The author can't even get that right.

Parking is £26 9am -5pm then £1 per hour. To pay £42 you have to park for 24 hours.

Leave the car for 25 hours and it could cost £70.

If you are working in Cambridge you are not likely to park for longer than 8-6 which would cost £28 in the car park.

If you are shopping you won't be there for more than a few hours and no mention is made of how much that would cost.

A fabricated story designed to have a go at the highway authority - very lazy journalism.
