A while ago (quite a few years now) i always used to think wistfully of owning an Escort RS Turbo (Series 2) and that they were a good car with some grunt. Was so disappointed the other day when I came up behind one in the Impreza (obviously on a runway and not on the dual carriageway) and just batted them out of the way, especially when entering the triple digits on the speedo.
Was so disappointed.

Agreed. I saw a serious Escort Cosworth the other day. Every time he stepped on the loud pedal the back end just about touched the floor it was immense.
