Hi everybody
My name is Derek and my french history has been 2 405s and 3 citreon cxs
The 405s were great but the citreons broke my heart so Ive been a Saab man for some time.
Its been a long time since Ive looked at the french sites I am now an owner of 2005 peugeot 407 with a v6 3.0 petrol motor, having been off the road for 5 years and not having been started.
My first job was to replace timing belt, idlers and water pump. With fantastic utube videos from peugeotcitreon2cv I started out very optomistic.Unfortunately Ive got myself into trouble with the motor not being the same and the lack of manuals on this motor.
My problem is the alignment of the variable cam sprockets for inserting the locking pins as well as the inlet sprockets being completely different.
Anyone knowing of any publications I can reference would be appreciated.
I guess all newcomers have desperate problems and sound a little whingy so I apologise now, but hope I can get some specific advise soon.
I just thought I would get my intro out there first
Thankyou for being a welcoming site and just for being available
