My wife has a 2005 Elantra 5-spd, that she loves to death. The car has never been a problem, even at 84K miles. Yes, that's right! 84,000 miles on a 10 year old car. Except for clutch, timing chain/water pump/pulleys replacement, brake job, and battery replacement, the old girl has been faithful and steadfast. (I am talking about the car.)
But I would like to up the horsepower somewhat. From what I have read elsewhere, I understand that the Beta 2 engine has been under appreciated and has the potential for big numbers. So I am here searching for information. Lots of information. I'm disabled retired and got tons of free time on my hands. I can throw a wrench with the best of them, from 1 cylinders to 12 cylinder diesels used off-shore in the Gulf. Besides, the Elantra is easier for me to work on than my Crown Vic.
Any suggestions on upping the go?
