thanks for the help. my car is turbo. can you suggest anyone for a remap

i have a 2003 406 hdi 2.0 110bhp. i want to increase the performance but dont know if the plug in box type are any good or should i go down the remap route. if i do remap will the car still pass an mot or does it have to be put back to standard. thanks gary
