i have a 2003 406 hdi 2.0 110bhp. i want to increase the performance but dont know if the plug in box type are any good or should i go down the remap route. if i do remap will the car still pass an mot or does it have to be put back to standard. thanks gary

Hi Welcome to the site - Most of the plug in box types are little more than a resistor on a bit of wire. Proper piggy back devices or a remap will not usually fail the MOT emissions test unless you went for a really radical remap. Swap in Sport chips offer pretty good value for money. If your car is not a turbo model a remap would not really be worth the money.
