Well here's the replacement for the MG ZS, she's a 1995 UK spec 1.8iS 5 with a confirmed 69,000 miles on the clock, 2 lady owners the last being a MX-5 OC member from new & full service history from new including all the receipts & MOT's. The sills have been repaired in the past but have been done to a good standard. The paint work is good for a 17 year old car but could do with a little tidy up although I am thinking of a respray in Honda pearl white. I love the OEM wheels & they are in good nick but I will get them refurbed this winter. Some quick pics... Engine the right way round & proper wheel drive. :amuse: Sticker on the slam panel confirms cam belt was done 2010 at 67,000 miles. Full tool kit...
Hey all, Right... I have been a member almost a year now and none of you have seen my 'Ride', well that's about to change... I am sure your thinking... " Why is starting a project thread? He hasn't passed his test! " I haven't, no. But I can't see why that should stop me? I'd mainly like to cover a few bits and bobs, mainly cosmetic at the moment. Eventually when I do pass, I'll start the tuning. Okay... So here she is
Hello everybody! It has been long time since my last post but now everything is set up to continue with my project I wrote about 2 years ago. It is going about rallycross racing buggy - very similar to Race of champions (ROC) buggy just with much more power and semi slicks. Also races will be very similar, I will race on SS asphalt stages in same class as Rally cars like Škoda S2000, EVO IX class F, WRC and so on ... So far we made 2.0 turbo engine with 290bhp and 520nm fitted on Audi S4 4WD gearbox modded to 2WD only, so buggy has RWD. But now we have problems with setting it up. Car has good cornering entrance but very bad exit because of open differential. We plan to put anti roll bar on front to stick rear tires on...
Hi, Well I thought it was about time I started a little project log on my little Megane. I bought this Megane in January this year and so far have not done too much to it, but have a long list of jobs to be done. Here are some pics of how it looked when I picked it up. Not really done much to it so far, apart from changing the aerial to a small bee-sting style one and adding smoked side repeaters. On the inside I have just finished adding full leather interior. Jobs to do include fitting 17" Kei Fuji alloys (Black), Sports exhaust system, M3 style mirrors etc. Will upload some more pics as soon as I get the interior fitted and hopefully as each job gets done. The aim is to have a nice looking Meg with some...
Okay, so I still have my Mk4 Astra lying around and decided at the weekend that I'd love to try a few track days with it. It doesn't have to be road legal as I will be putting it on a trailer. It only has a 1.6 engine but I'm not after serious performance just yet, just a bit of good fun. I'll probably strip it out to make it lighter and seem a bit more serious and exciting to the driver. Maybe in time I'll probably carry out a few modifications, might start with simple power gains. And maybe move onto improved suspension for a better feel. It's all about the experience with this car, I won't be racing anyone so the more fun I can have, the better. If anyone has any ideas for it to improve the experience or has any...
For those that don't know, the Ibiza Cupra runs the 1.8t from the VAG range, but from factory only has a tiny turbo and conservative map, running only 156bhp. I bought this as a Stage 1 with a fairly aggressive map, exhaust, large air filter and several bypasses done running 185bhp. It's also lowered on H&R Cup Kit, and was on 17" O.Z Superturismos. Pictures from the advert. CIMG3695 by Nick Berger, on Flickr CIMG3683 by Nick Berger, on Flickr CIMG3690 by Nick Berger, on Flickr First thing I did was change the 2 foot long standard aerial for a stubby one from a Citroen. 20101025_001.jpg by Nick Berger, on Flickr I then changed the rear wiper for one from a Mk5 Golf. Filthy cupra by Nick Berger, on Flickr Did the front...
Hey everyone, got the car to Wakefield Park Supersprint last weekend and managed another PB if only by .22 of a second, now at 1:13:25 and will be trying to get into the 12's next event. Toyo's are 2 years old now and even thought they still have life left in them I imagine they are quite a bit harder than when I first got them so thinking a new set will help to get me under the 13 sec mark. Posted time had me finishing 27/101 and even half a second shouldl take me up another 5-6 places Have probably got the car as far as I can with the handling and will now have to look at power and weight reduction. Power going to be costly so will have to start saving before any investments are made. Brought a Carbon GT wing from Mu Secret...
My father bought me this as a daily driver when my Monte Carlo bent the valves (and also heavily urging me to get rid of the Monte). I call this Project Tupperware because it's a common nickname for Saturns here, due to the plastic dent-resistant body panels. My aunt even asked if I had to burp the sunroof when getting into it XD. A little background info on Saturn for you Europeans since they're North American Market only. Saturn was a project started by GM in the early 1980's. GM wanted to show they could make a high quality small car to take down the Japanese imports... something they weren't known for. The project started in 1982 as "Project Saturn". At the time it was just a code-name for the project. In 1985, GM Announced Saturn...
I figured I'll make an official thread about this since I'll probably be taking massive amounts of photos of it anyways. Some of you will recall I mentioned in my introductory thread, that I mentioned having a 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 with bent valves that I had planned to rebuild. The problem turned out to be the crankshaft position sensor and timing belt tensioner, which in turn bent the valves. Whether I kept the car was in jeopardy as I got a 2004 Saturn Ion coupe to drive around in. After a while, I decided the car was too sentimental to part with and that I'd rebuild it. I just ordered a set of LQ1 heads (off a 1992 Lumina Z34) from Matt (GOT2B GM of w-body.com). This is the first purchase towards getting the car...
ok people this is my first ground up build i have a 91 ford econovan/mazda b2000 got off a mate it has petol and gas fitted, engine is a 2.0L carby fed FE that will become a force fet FE/T with a little toyota ct9, i already had this and being off a 1.8L it should boost eary for towing power and i'll keep it set around 5-7lb of boost i have left the block bolted in the van i'm too lazy to pull it out plus i'm covered when it rains, i have removed the pistons so she's ready for a hone all rings and bearings will remain standard my questions are, would standard rings and head gasket be ok with 5-7 pound boost, the boost controller will be mounted in the cab and plumbed to the factory internal wastegate so i have full control. i have...
Hi there guy's. I have thought it time I started my own thread now rather than keep jumping into other peoples with questions. Alot of you will know my planns. Upgrade Cams Adjustable Cam pullies Larger Turbo housing Remap Carbon Front splitter Carbon Exhaust guard Spark cover (either AMS metal or carbon) The cams are more or less settled. Either Brian Crower 268's or HKS 264's, im just waiting on the price difference. The pullies are going to have to be pipers as they are the only preformance part I can find a pair for for less than £200 The turbo housing is on the cards. Just need to decide if there is a difference between wither one of these...
Hey, this is what im planning to do to my factory standard 1997 Nissan Bluebird. i bought this after i crashed my mazda mx3 which was the beginning of a project. so i decided to modify this instead as around here there isnt any properly modified Bluebirds in New Zealand. (mostly boyracers just putting fat exhausts and lowering springs.) ok so its had abit of rust form under the wing mirrors in the past and the previous owners have removed it properly, but then resprayed the area in a different colour green. (dark green is factory colour, light green is aftermarket rust coverer) i had a racing exhaust on my mazda which i took off when i crashed and have put onto the car already. my plans for the future are as follows. -i plan to...
I thought I would post up details of my other project. Basically I am restoring an early 32GTR back to completely original spec that is exactly as it came out of the factory. The car is a 1991 32GTR . Its main clain to fame is that it is in the rarest nissan factory colour . The code is BLO and it was a special order only. It is a quite a strange pearlescent and can look grey, steel blue or even lilac in different lights. I imported in from japan 2 or 3 years ago with the intention in having something different .......... a stock GTR It seemed quite close to stock and only needed - suspension , air filters , exhaust and a few minor other things or so I thought.................
OK thought id better get this started seeing as the bora has now gone to car heaven only one pic of the car the now as not had the time or the weather to get the car properly cleaned up 1 2009 VRS TDI CR. decided to go with the newer CR engine rather than the older PD engines as there seem to be more issues with the DPF on the PD engines as they produce too much smoke and were never designed to run alongside the DPF. there was also the good old injector issues as with the 1.9 PD engine - for those who dont know the 2nd pump in the PD engines is the injector itself. some work needs done so as its still under warranty then its going into skoda next friday to get looked at. central locking within the car doesnt work...
This is my 2001 Volkswagen GTI 20V 1.8T 5 Speed Manual. I bought this car in September 2011 from another Volkswagen enthusiast who had this car tuned for his wife, who really did not need or want anything more than an average car to transport herself to and from work. She really disliked the fact that it was so low, and pushed her husband to sell it and buy her an average sedan and leave it the hell alone. The car came with the following mods: Shaved head Supposedly bored over to 2.0, though some folks disagree and I have not yet inspected the cylinder walls APR diverter valve Eurojet airlines K&N filter & short ram intake / Neuspeed heat shield Remapped ECU to compensate for the said mods FK Silverline coilovers - lowered to 1.25''...
Well folks, I have been threatening to do it and promised myself I wouldn't start this thread until work began. Well work has begun so let's kick things off. I have always loved the looks of both the R33 and the R34 but particularly the front end of the R334. So why not combine the two and make a Wide arch kit at the same time. Now I am going for subtle instead of an aggressive wide arch. Also the body shop company I am using believes in doing things right, so the wider front wings and rear wings will be custom made out of metal, not fiberglass. So here's what she looked like when I dropped her off to the body shop! Start of the rear end strip, remove rear bumper and lights. This is a 16 year old car but not in bad nick for it's...
Next year the greanmachine is going seriously hardcore so I have just got another stagea for daily driving driving around town and in the snow Its a very rare Series 2 RS Four S (maybe 5 or 6 in the UK ) and the last model with the early style body. Colour is called "snow white" which is pearlescent The S is the only factory manual stagea made and has all the following as standard out the factory from an R34 Skyline . Later Neo single turbo engine with just under 300bhp out the factory Latest dual syncro 5 speed gearbox Attessa pro awd system - with electronic stability program Exactly the same suspension and brakes all round as the R34 HICAS 4 wheel steering operated by seperate ECU LSD GTR Drivetrain Xenon...
So i posted earlier my new car well I've already made some small adaptations to it i will keep all my pictures and posts in this Thread to show you So I'll keep this simple this mod cost me £9.99 from halfords I'm going to add more tomorrow to the bodywork but as you can see its covered up the hideous Plate marks from the previous owner! Before: After: makes the car look so much nicer and so much less faded with a bit of T cut and a Viper Sticker Will Post tommorow when i add 2 more smaller stripes either side of it
PART 1 Thought I would share the basket case I got . Its a 1999 Jaguar XKR in a bit of a sorry state, does not look too bad in this first picture, was already modified to a certain degree They never look too bad in pics, this one had a bad paint job, a blown engine and the worst interior combo I could ever want, even the engine bay was a mess :(, but quite low mileage @ 50K The first thing I did was pull the engine, I then stripped it down to every last nut ‘n bolt, this is what I found, I actually had 3 pistons like these :sad2: Luckily the bores were saved by there nikasil coating, a testament to how strong that stuff is when you consider the state of the pistons! I rebuilt the engine stroking...
As promised here are pictures of my not very much tuned Ibiza. One month ago it was like this: Then I instaled this: That is Koni sport schocks and Platimex -40mm springs. Very pleased with it. If someone would like to read it I could make some kind of review after some more miles. After instaling it looked like this: Looks like wheel spacers would do justice for visual apearance? Yes! It would: And one picture of work place: P.S. How come I can not make all pics big like those two in a midle? Can someone help with sugestion?
thanks LOZ ill put everytyhing in here regarding my car. hi peeps this is where ill keep everyone updated on how to turn a 98 ford escort estate into either a pile of scrap or something worthy of being on a road. ill try and get some photos done asap of what im starting with so you can all see it come together or fall apart lol. only things i can say about "plans" so far is TRON...keep watching this thread.
So this is the very first post in what should be a long, but enjoyable project! First off, let me give you a bit of background into the car! I have currently owned the Clio for 2 years, loved every single minute of it. However, it has now come to the stage where I am looking for some more power. I have considered many options, but decided with some persuasion from a close friend of mine, that the Turbo route is the best. Looking at some of the kits offered by KTec and Engine Dynamics, I have decided to build my own kit based around these. As I am hoping for around 280 - 300bhp, I realise that some internal components will need to be uprated (Wossner pistons, PEC rods). I hope to keep this updated as much as possible! I hope...
Hi I have an 2010 RS mkII (400 bhp, 500 nm) with the following mods: - ECU remap (Autotech/JWR100) - Airtec intercooler - Scorpion turbo-back exhaust (decat) - Bosch 650cc fuel injectors - Mountune airbox with an additional custom 3" bottom intake pipe - K&N air filter - GGR engine mount - Powerflex front bushes - Roose silicone hose kit (upper engine bay) - RS rallyflapz - Compomotive Motorsport wheels, satin black, 18x9" (with TPI black wheel nuts and painted black standard brake calipers) - Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta XL 97Y tyres, 265/35/18 I bought the car brand new 15 months ago and went with a stage 1 remap + intercooler only after 3 months of ownership. Another 3 months later I had exhaust, injectors, and a few other bits...
So your all expecting a Land rover or similar....... WRONG! I've only gone and defected to the dark side and bought meself a bike! Old Skool Yamaha DT125R :) Picked it up for a steal and cheap as chips to run, but also doubles up as an awesome off road toy for the weekends. I only live 20mins from a site with a mx track and enduro area, so would be rude not to use it, even if the road spec suspension is a bit soggy on the jumps! Has a DEP expansion pipe and Big One silencer Larger Carb Jets Carbon reeds Renthal 22mm twinwall bars and pad Black levers pro-grip bar grips LED indicators (soon to be replaced with something more subtle) Plans: RIDE IT!!!!!! gonna leave it pretty much as it is, just add a graphics...
I've bought another motor and here she is..... Isn't to everyones taste but I think it's brill :) It's a 1994 Peugeot 205 Mardi Gras 1.8 Turbo Diesel, yes it is the turbo and not the weedy non turbo.... What else is there to tell I hear your say.... Well... It's metallic green and It has: Electric windows, power steering, romote central locking, and thats about it.... Ooooo it does have a starter button!?!?! That rubber thing is infact the very button, and you can only start that car by using that button, turning the key to start it does nothing!
Thinking of getting myself a ford focus 2.0 tdci zetec. Around 05/06. Firstly, is there anything i need to look out for when i'm veiwing (the cars in my price range have around 90-100k on the clock. Secondly, what can i do to mod the car. I want to keep it as my daily drive so i need to keep the drivability and economy. I'm unsure about what suspension mods i can do to it, anyone have any knowledge of this? After i've bought the car i'm going for a remap. Got a good price from Celtic (recommended by Paul) Are there any other engine mods that will give some decent power and torque gains?
Finally, we (me and a bunch of other young uns) have made our prototype vehicle called the supermileage vehicle. It is made entirely from scratch to participate in the Shell Eco-Marathon in Malaysia in July. Specs- 1. Carbon fibre body 2. Aluminium Chassis 6061 3. Honda GX35 engine 4. Michelin 20 X 1.76 tyres (3 wheeled) 5. Aerodynamic shape (Cd estimated to be 0.2 ) 6. SKF manufactured (customised for 40 inch spokes) wheel hubs 7. Mileage estimated to be 320 kmpl
Hello People Just thought i would add what i'm working on, just copied and pasted from another forum (to lazy to type it all out again :embarrest:) I bought the GTO Twin Tubby a couple of weeks ago with the intention of fix and sell, but after just having a drive and the misses telling me to keep it as a toy, how could i resist. This is how i bought it: And these are the problems i'm facing that i have found so far: This has just been sort out While i was doing the belts i found this: I still have to drill out this pin for the crank pulley: Once i've got these bits sorted its going in for an MOT and then the modding than begin  Also the SRS light is on, its stuck in Sports mode, and the thrust bearing sounds...
NEW GTO PROJECT. Hi people, I just stumbled onto this sight and it couldnt of happened at a better time as I have just purchased a 1998 Mitsubishi GTO and not having much luck finding any information on it as it is a full import from Japan and not even the local Mitsubishi dealer is being of much value. In the near future i am looking at doing quiet a few mechanical modifications to it and also a few changes to the body along with a full re-spray, and would appreciate any helpfull info or advice anyone would like to share with me. Cheers NIKKO :blink::lol:
Thought this would be the best place for this, so here goes. This was my car when I first bought her a few years ago and this was after her first 'facelift' She now, however, looks like this Interior is stripped out apart from the dash She's having some body mods done, including de locking, shaved door handles and a few other things. Her new colour scheme will be green and black. Here's my engine bits ready to go on her Got the strut braces done too. They all have rainbow shimmer in them so look pretty cool when the sun hits I've also just had the wheels back From standard silver to They are all powder coated so the engine bits should happily cope with the engine bay heat as they were baked at 200C...
Well well well..... here we are again! I still have the Transporter ( not much changed yet though, still waiting on LMK getting engine back in an sorted!) But have also started buying/selling/breaking cars again.... First off was a mk2 golf 16v which cost me peanuts, new fuel pump, couple panels and a polish and she's awaiting collection from her new owner, and im awaiting a healthy profit :) Then i picked up another 2 mk2 golf 16vs in a nice rare colour ( Helious blue :) ), originally i was going to put them both back on the road and make a rather large profit, but then i decided i wanted another toy.... So 1 is going back on the road, and the other one is my new project car. She's a 1989 3 dr Helios blue small bumper 16v...
Hi all, I bought this car quite a while ago. Originally I got the car as my Civic was involved in an accident and I needed something to get me from A to B, but wanted something that would hold it's value. I travelled to Peterborough one very snowy evening to check the car and it was fine (mechanically) so I lowered the seller to £1200 and drove it away that night. After owning the BMW for a while I decided to keep it instead of the Civic. I've quietly started my project over the last month or so and decided to share it with everyone on here. It's not the most powerful car in the world but right now it fits the bill perfectly. The previous owner's work wasn't the best so I have to correct scratches, rust and the awful back...
Lancer 2003 ES ... planning on MAYBE converting it to a Semi Ralliart haha ^^ Current mods: 6000k HIDs Both front and back Strut bars K&N Short Ram intake Race Pedals Blue led Shift Knob Black Tinted Windows Mitsubishi Logo on BG Mags Futur Mods to come: Mazda 3 2010 Blue Paint ( or something like it ) Might also Paint some Dash peices Headers with race catalyst and 2.5-3'' pipeline Racing Car Seats Upgraded Injectors Light weight Flywheel Ceramic Twin clutch 1.8 gear ratio box Brembo Brakes ( Discs, Pads and Caliper ) ( if they fit  ) Turbo etc. In head plan overall: Approx 250-300 hp & torque Range Convert with Turbo since Superchargers aren't made for that car to my concern And maybe...
Ok guys, here is my beautiful 3 stud Saxo progress thread. Got her in September for £700 with 12 months MOT, 6 months tax and 3 months warrenty. I did stickerbomb the fuel filler cap, the glovebox (I still have both) and my wing mirrors but I took them off cause they looked poor after about 3 days in the rain. Thats how she stayed until 2 weeks ago when I finally managed to spend a little bit of money on her. She was off the road for 2 weeks due to the ECU locking me out so its good to finally be able to drive her again. I managed to pick up some 3 stud alloys with Toyo Proxis for £50 on eBay, which I thought was a bargin and I think they suit the car. I have now also painted all badges and the chevrons black, got a new Sax-P...
Well I'm not sure it's really a wip but I thought I'd let you all know how things are going so far. Since buying the car just before Christmas she's had a fair bit of cash spent on her. First the Cam belts & the water pump have been changed, the cambelts are supposed to be changed at 60,000 miles or after 6 years if memory serves me right, the MG was on 55,000 when I bought & the previous owner had never had the belts changed. It's just as well I got the job done because one of the belt tensioners was found to be damaged. Also a grumbly near side front wheel bearing was replaced at the same time, but there was still a rumbling noise coming from the rear. The guys who done the cambelts said the tyres may be to blame. So today she...
I'm sorry if this doesn't make any sense as I've whipped it straight from another forum. I've been extremely quiet on this forum lately as I've been on PC2. So here goes; Ok, I got the car in April 2008, picked it up for £3,500 with one previous Lady owner. The car itself was in full working order apart from one of the washer jet hoses having a slight split in it, which caused a fault with one of the electronic fuel injectors by dripping water onto it. So first things first was to have that sorted. After that, you could tell the previous owner never really took any care for the way the car looked, scuffed wheels, dented doors, small scratches and never a polish since it left the show room! So first things first was Window...
Hi Guys, Thanks for all the kind coments and for making me feel so welcome, my plans for the car, ultimatley a DOHC VTEC transplant but thats for another day, i'm not really one for big ostentacious bodykits, i prefer the subtle approach so a set of 18"s (i know i said subtle but they won't fill the arches completely) and some lowering springs and shocks will be the first thing to do as she already has the look of the Type R minus the boot spoiler. then will come the big brake conversion but apart from that i will pretty much leave her looking stock Cheers Guys, progress will be slow but i will endeavor to keep you all updated Fatty
I know an MG isn't everyones cup of tea, but I love it. It's been in my possession for over 5.5 years and is work in progress. Not one to have shed loads of money to throw at it as having a house, wife, teenage daughters, cats and dogs etc tends to drain the stamford wallet somewhat! So on that basis having a couple of cars is a bit of a luxury so it gets treated as and when funds allow and when bargins come up! Technically it is work in progress as I am always finding something to do on it. Current spec: 2002 MG ZS180 BMC CDA induction kit, silicon hoses, cold air feed to foglight aperture. Janspeed cat back exhaust. Decat with MIL kit. Remapped by Reidyremaps, now running 200bhp on 95RON. Stripped interior. Battery...
