Well i reset my password and it said you have never posted a message so here goes... UK south of London amateur mechanic mostly to save money and definitely like knowing how to fix my own stuff, found this site a few years ago but never really looked at it in depth.
Just bought a 2006 a3 2l diesel which ran like pooh, replaced turbo and belt and it stopped going into limp mode, now the power steering light has come on and abs/ traction lights keep turning on during my drive so have to check this out. priority is there is grinding on front left so I think it needs some new pads so wondering 1. whether its worth upgrading to something better which is not too much more then stock. 2 in need of some descent tyres fro grip as mine are pretty bad but not illegal! any suggestions.. is it worth going up a size? theyre 205/55 R16's at present.
also got a volvo 240 estate, that's where i first learnt of this site, wanted to have big brakes and trying to find the cheapest way to do it...
