1967 GHIA

Craig McKenzie's 1967 Karmann Ghia convertible

Craig started this restoration and modification in Feb 2001, and had it finished by Feb 2002. The Ghia is a left hand drive convertible, sprayed in Toyota Mica Garnet Red, equipped with a black canvas hood. Originally the car had a 1500cc engine, but naturally Craig wanted to up rate it, and up rate it he did!! al the way to a 2110cc monster.
The Gearbox is actually a stock VW 1500cc box, and the wheels are off a Porsche 914 2 litre.

Craig hasn't touched the rear suspension on the Ghia, his reasoning being that it looks good as it is, and we are sure you'll agree when you check out those gorgeous pics, and the perfect stance of the Ghia.
The engine was built by John Maher Racing, and is a Type 1.
It features: Crankshaft 82mm one piece forged, Camshaft Eagle FK10, 044 Magnum plus cylinder heads, Dellorto 45 carburetors, and electric fuel pump kit, exhaust header Gene Berg 1 5/8" street header, and finally a silencer 2 1/8" Magna flow Turbo Muffler.
