Emissions warning light has come on did the same thing about 3 weeks ago stayed on for about 30 mins car is running normal will i cause any damage running the car cheers

Had a similar problem and do as I did and take it to a service centre that has the correct diagnostic tools and get it checked out ASAP.
It turned out to be a faulty exhaust emissions recirculation valve in my casethat was replaced under warranty 2 days out of warranty.

I had this on my Saab once, it was found to be a faulty co2 sensor on my exhaust downpipe. I took it to the Saab garage and had the fault code read properly. Yes it might be slightly more expensive, but the cost is offset by having a quicker more accurate diagnosis done and therefore cheaper purchase costs because someone is not trying to fit every spare part in the garage in the hope of curing the problem.
