toyota corolla help

Hi all, I have just bought a Toyota Corolla (x reg 2000) 1398cc. and would be interested in increasing the bhp and torque, does anyone have any sugestions?

Does it have the six speed box? If not consider changing to it for quicker accelleration. I had a 1.3GS for a time and it was economical but very under powered. The only thing I would really have been able to do to it is a pretty major engine swap to the 1.6.

No, the car has a 5 speed box, will look at swapping the engine out and upgrading the gearbox, suspention and brake system. Cheers 4 the link, will check it out.
