Hi again
Thanks to country bumpkin for your reply can anyone tell me why my engine cooling fans come on when they are not required and what is a/t temp? which is lighting up. many thanks Steve.

a/t temp is auto transmission temp. My best advice is that you service the auto box with a new filter/oil and gasket for the sump pan, then fit an after market oil cooler. Your standard cooler runs through the bottom of the rad.
First off though, just check the transmission oil level, the dipstick is just off centre of the engine bay fuse box.
Rad fans, there are two sensors at the bottom of the rad, drivers side, one black one white, if they fail it will put the fans on permanently. As a quick check though, make sure you haven't got the air con on all the time or this will turn the fans on as soon as you turn the ignition on.
