How much can it take?

I was wondering how much you can get out of a 2.0 135bhp engine (just generally speaking) before you need to invest in stronger internal engine parts? If you dont know WTH im trying to say just tell me so i can try to explain it better.

The general rule for NASP engine is roughly 100Bhp per litre so a 2 litre engine in theory should be able to reach 200 bhp.

Well meant more like if i install a "rather" small kompressor/supercharger + intercooler. Would i then have to replace the crank or any other parts or could it handle the extra power? without breaking/blowing up

You'd need to find a pulley to run it off but a modest supercharger shouldn't kill your engine. Unless you tried running big boost.

How much pressure would u say it can handle? (If it helps the its the 306 v4 2.0 16v 135bhp engine from 98) And thanks for the info.

For safety I'd keep the power to around 170/180 on stock internals.

you can get more than that in the xsi 16v engine....about 220-240 hp easy...

don't use more than 8psi boost....I'll get you a link for a company that makes a kit for your car and you can see for yourself the hp you can run on standard internals

They do a supercharger for the GTi6 and the XSi 16v they have basically the same engine and have a look at the power they get from an engine with standard internals
