golf 3 VR6

hi guys,

i need some help please i got a golf 3 vr6, the engine is still standard 2.8
when i start the car the cars ref counter goes up and down and the engine feels like to want to swith off, im not sure could it be the fuel pump doing this or the air flow meter, some time the car is fine then the next day it starts again.

any help will do thanks guys

Sounds like your MAF needs replacing. These are known for shoddy electrics annoyingly. My cousin had a VR6 in storm grey.... Lovely car!

thanks, that will be the first thing i replace ....and ill clean the ICV TB as well

any advice on how to make it a bit faster, the only thing i done to the car i put branches on, will a chip do?

to make a massive difference your going to have to look towards forced induction. on the plus side the vr6 has been supercharged plenty of times
