fto engine knocking

My fto started a slight knocking/tapping sound on starting up. It used to only last a few seconds and sometimes didnt even happen. Now the noise is lasting longer. Any ideas what it could be?:blink:

when was the last oil change ?

top, oil changed last july was doing it before and after then but hardly!

ps, the noise occurs right through rpm range!

try changing it again as its amost a year old. with performance engines really you want to be changing it every 6 months.

Without hearing it, it's impossible to be 100% accurate but it's most likely the cam followers. This is a common fault which no amount of oil changes will cure. The way ahead is to fit new followers, along with good oil and a new filter.
