    hi guys, me again..
    just wondering would a 1600 escort bellhousing fit onto a mk5 cortina engine?

    also would i need to do much work to get mk2 escort seat belts into a mk1 escort?? or would cortina seat belts work??

    I'm assuming the cortina is a pinto and the escort is a xflow, it's been a long time since I did a pinto swap in an escort, but from memory the answer is yes.

    Seat belt anchor points should be the same, but I am struggling to remember if the MK1 Escort belts were static as opposed to inertia. If they were inertia then the cut out in the frame work will accommodate the small reel belt version.

    Sorry if not very clear, trying to visualise from memory when I use to play around with all of these cars. Hopefully somebody will be able to answer you more accurately.
