does an air-com pump pump air?

iv got an air horn in my car which requires an air tank for a reservoir, but the problem is filling it up every time it runs low. the horn needs 80-100psi to make a strong note. my 75l tank only holds maybe 10 blasts until it needs topped up. iv looked into 12v air compressors but they're not able to kick in at such high pressures. the only thing i can think of is to mount an air compressor direct to my engine. iv seen it done on 4x4s but they've plenty of space but i've none. the only thing i can do without is the air-con pump, thinking on that, sure it pumps gas round the system, why couldnt it pump air into my tank??? is it possible for an air-con pump to pump air?

any thoughts on this would be much appreciated

I would say an air con pump only moves refrigerant. I's the fan that moves the air around the car.

Won't work. You need a positive displacement device to do this.
