Was thinking about getting a compression tester on my engine to see how healthy it is.

It runs well and all but it would be worth while checking everything is ok before I slap a bigger turbo on there.

I do know diesel testers are different but the question I want to ask is..

Will I need a different tester because my engine is IDI rather than DI

neither the glow plugs or injectors point directly in the combustion chamber so I'm not sure I will get an accurate reading.

Could someone please fill me in.

Cheers

Brett

You should be able to use the glow worm apertures for this. The pre-combustion chambers are still going to be at the same pressure as the primary chambers.
