A3 indicator fault problem

I have a fault on my A3 which is getting worse.

The indicators intermittently turn off. When signalling sometimes I get upto 3 flashes and then they just turn off, occasionally they jam permenantly on and other times they work normally!

Anyone else had this? I'm guessing it is the relay rather than a wiring issue.

All sorted now (sort of) it was the hazard switch. To replace this you have to go in through the radio opening!

The garaged tried to prise off the fascia and scratched it up but they have promised to get it repaired for me.

Now the click of my indicators sounds weak, weedy or very different. It's amazing how much a thing like the click of an indicator makes to your perception of a car. I'm guessing they used either a cheaper VAG part from Skoda or similar or got a generic replacement non OEM part.

Should I moan about this? They have been so good about the other damage and it seems really really petty!

more likely they just got a pattern part
