Hey guys, i have recently got a 1.9 tdi 08 plate 5door audi and am very new to the tuning thing,

I am not very good with mechanical talk but am just looking at ways to make my car a bit faster and a more fun drive.

So far i have bought a bluefin chip for it just to bide me over until i can get some proper ideas on what is available to a tdi and what i can do with my car.

So if anybody has any suggestions on what can be done with a diesel any help would be great :amuse:

youve pretty much done the basics. the remap is the biggest bang for buck you can get.
to gain similar performance again your looking changing the turbo fully or its internals, but most remaps also push the clutch and flywheel to near enough max anyway so they would need changed as well.

exhausts flow well on the diesel and no real gain from changing it although getting rid of the guts out of the cat and DPF will get you a little more power when the map is tweaked.
the map needs done for the DPF as it will throw up errors and put the car into limp mod otherwise

Brilliant thankyou for the advice with changing the turbo and other such things, is there a reputable company i can use to get these parts ? or will audi have a brand that i may be able to use instead of aftermarket products ? just wandering if there was a favourite company alot of people use ?

Hello and Welcome to TorqueCars.
Hope you enjoy your time with us.

You could try and source a better turbo off another car rather than going aftermarket, it may work out cheaper.

ive heard of people using the turbo off the A4 3.0 tdi but it requires playing around with the inlet manifold to get it to fit.

if your just after a lillr more you could look at hybridising your current turbo. basically your turbo would have to be in relitivly good condition no cracks etc and they would bore out your casings to allow lager parts to be fitted. theres a couple of companies that will do this . advantage to this is that its a direct swap and you will have less lag than simply whacking on a larger turbo.

theres a few companies that specialise in turbo rebuilding that can offer this service
