1996 406 1.9td fuel economy

Not really the most appropriate pair of questions but:

Crap fuel economy in my car - 37ish mpg at best.... any ideas?


How can I increase the boost on my 406 td?

Any help appreciated!

Remap the ECU - more power and better fuel economy. You really should be getting more MPG than that - do you ever lift your right foot? What year is your 406 - the later ones are much easier to remap.

No offence, but the cost of a good remap vs. the cost of a 1996 405 Diesel might not be worth it.. Make sure it's all serviced correctly is your best bet!

Yo Freddie - don't tell me you haven't spent more on your car than its really worth! Eventually I think we all do it - its one of those things. A swap in chip should only cost 2-300 notes.

Hehe... All I'm saying is it's very easy to shell out a tonne or two and end up with a map which doesn't even do what you need. Many places which offer remaps don't have the facilities to test properly what they have mapped.
