1984 Corolla 1.8GLS (3T) Tuning Mods?

I have an immaculate (flat nosed) 1984 1.8 Sprinter with the 3T motor and a genuine 80480km on it . This car is orriginal with nothing fitted to it ... yet :?

Now what can I do to this motor, without changing/swopping it, and without the obvious blue printing and porting etc.
What have you all used in the past for this model?
I will not be racing or doing drags with it. It would be for street use only!

Your list is pretty much on the ball. An induction kit will help - those paper filters are really useless. Cam would make the biggest difference (fast road not race though). FSE boost valve and sports exhaust.

Rather than a turbo a supercharger will be slightly easier to fit but you are looking at a lot of money for a supercharger kit.

take it, it is a carb and not injection
you missed bigger carb or modifng the intae manifold to allow 2 carbs

this could give easy gains combined with a better filter


think im right in sayng that if it is a carb engine the 'charger has to be fitted after the carb problem with this is that you are compressing both air and fuel instead of just air

but not completly sure hopefully someone else will be able to confirm or reject this info
