    Beautiful Numbers

The lowest mileage car i ever drove was when i was a sales rep and got given a new astra. Nothing special but that smell...

    Beautiful Numbers

Am i alone in my strange fascination of numbers in a certain pattern? I know with words it's called a palindrome but i find myself pulling over just to take a snap of the number. Let's face it, once they tick round, they're gone forever...

What is the correct way to disconnect and connect a car battery

I was given training in the week regarding this subject. A few of my colleagues argued about it to our trainer. We were all given safety goggles too. Very fetching. We were advised, like many of you have stated, that red on first, red off last. At the auctions we have a battery on a sacktruck...

Wow, some amazing advice here guys, i don't know where to start. I suppose, get the sub and see what it is all about. Then pick some bits from your knowledge and experience. Sounds like I'll be booming soon.|B

    Do i need an amp?

Hello guys, I have standard speakers throughout but shall be getting an 1100w set of 2x front and 2x rear. My friend said he has a box for the boot, unsure of size or wattage. The head unit is a pioneer DEH-1300MP which i know is entry level, however it does have an okay mosfet 50w x4 amp. There...

Are bigger rims a good idea

I assume a lower profile would allow for an inch or two bigger rim, it seems obvious to me but i am a naive dunce. I think my 206 has 14's and would like to go just a bit bigger. Nothing showy but a more full arch compartment?

What is your cars real 0-60 time?

Yes indeed. I got it 26th May (1.1 206) with 98800 miles. It has 101500 already. I have enjoyed the 'throw away' nature of it and the cheapish fuel economy. It cost £100 and £230 for repairs & mot. So well worth it. My ex gf recently passed her test, so she can have it when i upgrade. Sorry for...

Do you drive at the limit regularly

There are a few particular roads in and around Worthing that get a caining, but my 1.1 can't do what i want it to obviously.V( Also, since growing up i have calmed down a lot, I used to batter it on the way to the Chelsea cruise in the 90's. Electronic music, Beats and Bass, any brand for me...

What Identfies a sports car to you?

I would say that TVR isn't a supercar maker but they certainly don't make family cars. I know that is brand specific. Any car that has 140bhp upwards? I suppose it would depend on car or power to weight ratio? You could say any car with a V6 or bigger but then there are Range Rovers which are...

Volvo to phase out traditional engines

It is a crazy thought. It makes me think of the Sylvester Stallone & Wesley Snipes film 'Demolition Man'. I think there will always be a market for combustion engines, what about custom car builders or small factories like Bristol or TVR? I cannot imagine electric Lorries either, although i am...

Would you buy an auction car

Yo, I happen to work at shoreham vehicle auctions. I have only been there for 3 months but it is a great place to be. Not good money at all but it's an easy job to do. Most cheaper cars are part exchanges from local dealers with a few private entries. It is pot luck what may or may not be wrong...

What is your cars real 0-60 time?

Well, My 1.1 pug 206 is meant to be 14.6secs but in reality, it's more like 18. It runs okay but it does need a service. I still don't think that will cut the time by much. I dream of halving that and i am to upgrade to a gti180 soon as i get the dosh together.

    206 1.1 to 2.0 gti 180

So i am wondering whether to swap engine, ecu, suspension etc or just but a factory 180gti? I see on autotrader that the 180's are only about £1,500 and not knowing how much individual parts would be, or a donor gti, plus the work involved and insurance hike,it seems like the factory one wins...
