Hello Jarrus, I honestly did not know that I was posting on the peugeot section, I just clocked on"start new thread " and posted. I am not so clued up on computers, and tend to make these goof ups on a regular basis, If it bothers people so much, I would rather stop posting as it is not my...

Who is the best motorsport driver

I think that Niki Lauda was the best. Reason? No other driver driver except Jackie Stewart was selected ISK's Sportsman of the Year. Lauda was selected in 1977, After becoming World Champion in 1975, Lauda made his comeback after the Nürburgring crash that almost cost him his life,to win two...

My advice would be to get whatever car is available within your budget, and then start the project, you will learn on the job, so to speak, and thoroughly enjoy yourself in the process. Best of luck.

    Arrogant Sods!

I can understand EXACTLY how you feel! Here in India, they now park on both sides of the road, and these large SUV's driven by mostly morons and half wits, come at you, swipe your side mirrors, then give you a dirty look. I just wish I was younger, I have come to realise belatedly, that older...

    Is Diesel 'cheap' muscle?

With the vast technological improvements made on the Diesel engine of today, Diesel is the prime mover of choice, and as HDi fun mentioned "let's not dismiss diesel's high BMEP advantages".

Hi Ronnie Calcutta, Please contact Kartik <karthik@racedynamics.in> he is based in Bangalore, and manufactures stand alone as well as piggy back ECMs for all popular cars.

    How to modify ECM data?

It would be cheaper and more convenient to replace the existing ECU with one of our local brands, at least in my experience here in Bangalore.

Exactly, also, the car that we intend to import should not be LHD, and if bought used, be less than 5 years old, and in use by the intended importer in the country he/she is living/working in for at least 6 months. Crazy rules, but that's how it is.

Yes I did see the price, that would mean 20,000 UK Pounds Plus 117% duty plus freight, a staggering total!, this is why we in India are unable to import .

    exhaust flaming

Intermittent flames from the exhaust mean that you have a cylinder that is not firing occasionally, resulting in a temporary rich condition in your exhaust , which then ignites. Check your HT leads, plugs-in fact check the entire ignition system ASP , or else you may find your exhaust system on...

    dump valves?????????????????

Interesting thread,I have some experience with turbochargers, but this experience stops at around the late 80's technology. About the only method that I know to reduce turbo lag is to use a small fast spooling turbo. The more you free up exhaust gas flow, intercooler piping drag, etc will also...

    Info on DIY turbo

If you like to keep it NA then fit a stroker kit(around 1,500USD about 5 years ago) if you go the turbocharge way then a Holset H2 series would be ideal, I have worked on these engines, and they are rugged.
