Dang, I'm not surprised it knocks your body clock around like that, my shifts are bad enough on me but in all honesty, I'd be dead or at least very ill if I had those working hours. Still, at least your close with your family, bet it makes up for the working hours you have to go through.

Same here, never feels like there are enough hours in the day. Do you work long hours or is your time just taken up by life?
  3. Stiggy

    I'm Back'ish

Lol isn't that the life, glad you seem to be doing well though.

Just had a quick look and that was quite an extensive mod list, the most I've ever managed to do was an induction kit, remap, brakes, and new wheels, all on different car's too lol. Although every car I've had I always upgraded the tyres since you know, they are the difference between stopping...

I'm not sure if it's high pressure I have or just a failing oil seal somewhere, I thought I read somewhere that it's a common thing for the turbos to start failing at relatively low mileage on my engine, but I could be mistaken. What car was it that had the 380bhp? sounds like it was a fun car...

    I'm Back'ish

I do let the turbo cool a bit, the last third of a mile is driving through a residential area at basically tick over RPM, and once I'm parked I'll let the car idle while I sort myself out before getting out (check lights are off, grab anything I need, etc). I do the same when I go to work, the...

Not really no. the only smoke I get is condensation on cold start and some black smoke when I haven't driven it hard for a while, but even then that's cleared after a couple of pulls to the red line. From what I can tell it'll only start using oil when the oil gets up to about 90c and I'm...

I'll have to get in touch with the garage that has been working on my car for a while now, and see if they have done a compression test already or not. if not I might have to book it in and go from there. And by decoke, you mean the BG cleaning you mentioned before?

Just watched the video and it's quite helpful, unfortunately, I don't have the means to do the testing myself. As for the symptoms, I don't think I have any of those symptoms. Idles smoothly when hot and cold, performance seems alright. and my MPG is 25mpg around the city and on a run, I can...

Well, I've already had a fair bit replaced on the car. If it's not the EGR it will most likely be an internal issue. how can you check the EGR valve?

    I'm Back'ish

Yeah, it is a nice setup from what I can tell, a nice fat torque curve right in the middle of the rev range, perfect for some spirited driving. I was having a look at the tuning guides and the known issues and problems with the engines and I believe I might have the oil burn issue...

oh, mine is a 2007 model, so it would more than likely be the EA113?

Errmm I'm not sure which engine it is, is there a quick and easy way to find out or do I need to start digging around the engine bay to find it. All I know currently is that it is allegedly a 2.0T TFSI at 200Bhp or thereabout. Thanks for the links though.

Okay, I'll have a look at some point. Thanks for the info.

How much is the BG clean service roughly and also is there a centre near Worcester? I don't think I'm lacking power but then again I might not have ever had full power since the car was so miss treated when I got it, I've had it just over a year and I've been fixing more important things over time.

Oh, I see, I wasn't really aware of this, I just thought it was the standard replace the two tyres on the same axle at a time. I'll have to keep that in mind when I come to change my tyres next time, not sure when that will be though with how long these tyres are lasting currently. This might...

Sounds Nice, especially the extra bit of power and toys. Ahh I see, the Goodyear's are a bit soft. I'm running some Pilot sport 4's at the moment, awesome tyres. what's this about having to change all 4 tyres at the same time though? not really heard that before.

Seems you have had a few Audi's to say the least lol, What was different to the Lemans A4 compared to the standard one? totally understand the fuel cost issue though, my A3 has the 2.0 Tfsi engine and Quattro as well, how come you were chewing through tires though? I've done nearly 14,000 on my...

It has been a while, Thought to myself I need to stop being an anti-social bugger and say hi to everyone lol. Car wise it's been an eventful time. I think Last time I was here I had a Celica T-Sport, Awesome car but it was a bit to low for me so I swapped to something more practical. So I ended...

    New Tires Soon

All food for thought, will definitely have to do some proper investigation when I have financially recovered from buying the car. Mind I also emailed the guys and tyrereviews.co.uk and to my surprise they came back to me. They gave me a few links to look at that I'll list below and then...

Are the TWI only listed on the tires or are they also listed on the websites as well? all I have found is the labeling witch states Wet grip, Fuel efficiency, and Noise Rating.

    New Tires Soon

Ouch only 6 months? that's surprising but not at the same time in a way, to get all that grip they must have been really soft, or you spent most the time sliding the car ;-)

    New Tires Soon

hmm that's an interesting point, well I have to ask then what tires have everyone had bad experiences with?

    New Tires Soon

Just had a look online for them and they have had stellar reviews from users left, right, and center, only time they are getting played down is in reviews from places like Auto Express, will definitely keep an eye on these. Any others to keep an eye out for? always good to have a choice.

    New Tires Soon

Haha yeah I'm still around, keep checking in every now and then but failing to post lol. well I need tires that can attack B roads in all weather (commute too and from work) and also handle the occasional track day. I don't really want to compromise too much on wet weather performance as when...

    New Tires Soon

Cheers for the link, I did find that website before, I just wasn't sure about it as I was finding other sites giving reviews that had different results. Alot of review sites were saying that the Michelin Super Sports were the end all but this website ranks them 6th for my tires size. Going by...

    New Tires Soon

Hey All, it's been a while. Wondering if I could get some advice. I've just got my self a new car and it has some nice ditch finders on it right now so when I have financially recovered I am looking to get some new tires. Trouble is there are so many to choose from these days and I can't find...

Thank's dude, I would modify this car that I'm likely to be getting but I want to give it back in a couple of year's to clear the finance so no mod's for this one, maybe on the next car I end up getting ;)

    Car suggestions

Fair enough, well since all I will be doing once I get a turbo car would be an ECU upgrade the generic one would be fine for me. Never been much of a fan of the skyline's to be honest although I thought the R33's looked good, I've always been more of a 3000GT (GTO) man. Mind all this...

    Car suggestions

Haha young Stiggy, make's me sound younger than what I actually am. From the sound's of thing's my idea of a remap was the custom one anyway, my idea of the process of a ecu remap was to put a base map on it, Dyno run, tune some more, another dyno run and so on until you find the best setting...

    Car suggestions

Thank's for the suggestion's guy's, is their much of a difference between generic maps and one's tailored specifically to your engine or is it all just price tag considering the ECU remap would probably be the only thing I do on the car unless something else need's changing to maintain reliability.

Interesting, seem's I have a few more thing's to look at before going shopping for a car then, also about these ECU remapping companies, which one's are the most reputable, I know of Celtic Tuning and Superchips but are their any other's that are good and reputable?

I've heard good things about those 1.8 engine's too, part the reason as to why I'm interested in them now, plus according to Celtic Tuning that Andy linked me to the 1.8T 150 will go to a claimed 205BHP from a simple remap :amazed: Oh Herb is this one of those special anniversary editions you...
