TBH for me this is more interesting than the actual world land speed record.

Although things like the Thrust SSC are incredibly impressive, and the blokes who drive them, to me it's not so much seeing how fast you can go but more about stopping a wingless plane from taking off.

I'm more interested in the speed record for vehicles with driven wheels.

agree with yugguy on that one. although ill never own a veyron or such like an M5 is more than doable in a few years maybe.
where did this info come from if i may ask ? would like to read a bit more.

M5s are formidable beasts but drive as easily as my ploddy 528i, albeit without the auto 'box.

It's probably one of the best conceived cars ever - clearly the tuning potential is high as well.
