VAG PD engines and fuel quality (additives?)

Just bringing this topic up again. I've ordered another can of BG244 and by the time it gets delivered on Thursday, I'll be down to half a tank of fuel. The can treats up to 60 litres of fuel with the Golf's tank being 55 litres. Is it ok to pour it into half a tank or should I wait until I've...

    JLR Gagging order!

Word has reached my ear about this so I thought I'd share it here and copy my response from another forum re the Consumer Rights Act 2015. https://www.discosportforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5958 S.31 of the 2015 Act: (1)A term of a contract to supply goods is not binding on the consumer...

    Remap VW Golf PD TDi

Yes I'm going to email dynotech and ask some questions about mods beyond just the standard remap

    Remap VW Golf PD TDi

Thanks. Not turbo, it's just that there are greater levels of remapping available. I read on one forum that the standard clutch can handle 180bhp. I find that a bit of a stretch and I dare say that there are many other components to consider with such a power hike.

    Remap VW Golf PD TDi

I am re-visiting this topic again. Insurance renewal date is 14/04 which means the renewal documents will be along in the next few weeks. Admiral came out at £5 more per month than I am currently paying with Sainsburys (who refuse cover for the mod) but for that I had to up it to £500 excess...

    Careys Valeting

No worries. Understandable. Just pleased with the results after it was so filthy!

    Careys Valeting

As per previous posts, I normally wash and polish my own car but I have not done it since November! The lack of daylight in winter and the weather meant it just kept being put back. The setting up to wash is a pain even in good weather so I decided to employ the services of Careys Valeting who...

VAG PD engines and fuel quality (additives?)

Thanks all for the input. I am placing an order now for a can and will see how it goes. The great thing is Wayne that I live 7 miles from work and the morning commute is probably 80% A38 cruising but due to the one way system through the site, my route home is slightly different and probably...

VAG PD engines and fuel quality (additives?)

I don't understand the technical aspects but I presume that the BG244 will help with the injectors to a greater extent than whatever they put into the diesel at the pumps.

VAG PD engines and fuel quality (additives?)

Thanks. The only other thing that occurred to me is that having been using V-Power Diesel since April, the detergents etc. in the fuel should clean everything up anyway. Or perhaps this BG stuff is in a different league?

VAG PD engines and fuel quality (additives?)

Thanks. Just checked out the BG244 stuff which gets excellent reviews. Do I need to wait until almost empty and pour it in before filling up or am I ok using it now I've just filled up?

VAG PD engines and fuel quality (additives?)

Who knows their stuff with VAG PD engines? I have heard they can be a pain with things like injectors if not looked after properly. In a bid to combat any such issues and because I care about my cars, ever since buying my Golf TDi in April, I have filled up with Shell V-Power Nitro+ Diesel. To...

Why wait to turn a diesel on

On the cold mornings lately, I have noticed the coil light on my Golf (1.9 PD engine) takes a few seconds to go out. I also find the engine starts more smoothly on cold mornings if I turn the ignition off then back on again so the coil goes out for the 2nd time before I start the engine.
