I have a 911 2.4T which is not an original classic, but very nicely modified. The entire body and interior was converted with original factory body parts and is indistinguishable from a 930 turbo. The only thing missing is the boost gauge on the rev counter. I have always thought it looked great but with pretty average performance, made worse by the 6000 foot altitude in Joburg. I am now coming to the end of a 2 year Gigabuck engine and transmission rebuild - upgrade which should give me plenty of poke but I need to do some work on the brakes. When the 930 turbo bodywork was done, the brakes were upgraded to ventilated rotors all round, but they are not servo assisted. I have got used to it and have a right leg like Arnold Schwarzenegger, pity about the left one though. Anyone else getting out of a modern car to drive mine thinks the brakes are rubbish, they aren't, they just need a lot of pedal pressure.

Has anyone got experience of retrofitting the older Porsche 911s with a brake servo to give a bit of a
About
I learned to work on my own vehicles as an engineering apprentice, mainly because the pay meant D.I.Y. or walk. I got bitten by the bug and have owned a string of classics since. I have overhauled engines, transmissions and done bodywork and respraying.
