- I currently have an Audi A3 1.4TSI 150 bhp with COD tech, it's running on 17's and is a Sport model with upgraded suspension! It's nippy and frugal!
I'm pretty happy with the standard car - it performs and handles really well for a small petrol and handles great but I'm sure the modding bug will strike.
I've tried the TDI tuning box with great success and when fitted this takes the power to the 185 mark, which is plenty for such a light engine and it feels pretty fast.
Economy wise is is great and pretty much matches my former diesel so I also get 47 MPG from it fairly consistently (more on a long run - low 60's if I granny it at 50!) When driven hard the fuel consumption drops dramatically so it's like having two cars to play with depending on my mood.
First up I need to convince my wife that the car is in need of some more mods.

I have plans of taking the power to the 200/250 bhp mark.

- My last car was an Audi A3 2.0 TDI 140 running on 18's in stunning black with black grill!
Awesome Audi A4 Avant 2.0 T FSi Quattro which we had to sell because it cost us too much in fuel as we now do a high mileage. It was the best car I've ever owned and did around 33mpg on the town up to 37mpg on a run.
220bhp and Quattro made the car a lot of fun to drive on the bends and in the wet! It just pulled like a train in all the gears.

Before this I had a Rover 220 GTi which I stripped and rebuilt.
I managed to get the NASP power to 175bhp, but there was a big reliability issue - perhaps it is just a Rover thing!
The one thing that wound me up was that the manufacturers performance gains were at best very optimistic, and they didn't tell you that certain mods require work in other areas.
This is partly why I started this site - to try and get a reference for mod
